13th Annual Rhody 5K Road Race

Sunday, June 3rd, 2012 @ 9:30am - Twin River's South Entrance

The popular Rhody 5K Road Race will be run at Twin River Casino for the thirteenth consecutive year on Sunday morning, June 3rd. The Rhody 5K is managed by Dave McGillivray, Race Director of the BAA Boston Marathon and President of Dave McGillivray Sports Enterprises Inc. (DMSE). Over 1,000 runners are expected to participate in the race with $3,000 to be awarded in prize money.

Sponsor funding from the Rhody 5K has generated more than $908,000 in charitable donations since its inception. The principal beneficiaries are The Tomorrow Fund, an independent, non-profit clinic founded in 1985 by a group of local citizens in order to provide financial and emotional support to the families of children stricken with cancer and Lincoln Days Committee, a community program that emphasizes town unity through entertainment and civic activities. The Tomorrow Fund has received almost $700,000 in donations from the Rhody 5K and donations to Lincoln Days Committee have amounted to more than $210,000.

Registration will take place outside Twin River's South Entrance from 8am to 9:15 a.m. Rhody 5K bib numbers will include a timing tag (ChronoTrack B-Tag) will be distributed at Registration. Official Technical Running T-shirt to the first 750 to register! The race will be held rain or shine.

Men's/Women's start time is 9:30am.
The Kids K will begin at 10:15 a.m. for children age 12 and under (distances depend on age group).

5K race/walk (Seniors 70+) No Fee
Kids' Race (age 12 & under) No Fee
Post Entry (Race Day ONLY) $25

3.1 Miles

The 3.1-mile course (5K) over Twin River grounds and surrounding roads will conclude at Twin River's South Entrance. Mile Marker splits and water stations will be located along the flat course. We are sorry to report that animals are not allowed to accompany runners/walkers in the race.
