Tony Cerbo

Sunday, January 28, 2018 2:00pm

Breaking into the music scene in June of 2008, Tony Cerbo hit New England by storm. His extraordinary number of performances in the last several years is an indication of his phenomenal talent and the respect he has earned in the performers’ circuit.

Beyond his local gigs, Tony has performed in venues in Boston, New York, and Las Vegas. His ever-present natural spontaneity and heart and soul make his delivery exhilarating, and his audiences engaged and energized. The media has deemed him, “The next best thing to Michael Buble’ himself.” In response to this, however, Tony’s admirable modesty is refreshing when he comments that he is simply doing what he loves to do – to sing with all his heart, ultimately delighting his audiences.

Tony is a native of Johnston, Rhode Island. His childhood memories of the recorded sounds of Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, and Dean Martin playing in his home became the stimulus for his singing career. His ability to make the music of the “Rat Pack” come alive once again is only rivaled by his accomplished renditions of the songs of Michael Buble’, Elvis Presley, and Elton John, to name a few. Tony Cerbo’s passion for music brings sentiment, romance, and excitement to his innovative shows.

Steven Palumbo as Dean Martin

Sunday, February 11, 2018 2:00pm

Lush…resonant…romantic. The words apply not only to the lyrics of the songs he sings, but also to the qualities of Steven Palumbo’s elegant voice. The sheer love of music and performing comes through in every note he sings.

Currently best known for his portrayal of Dean Martin in a ‘Rat Pack’ tribute, Palumbo’s powerful voice and personal charm play well to fans throughout New England and indeed all along the East Coast.

A natural entertainer, Palumbo began singing during his childhood in Providence, Rhode Island. He took voice lessons and grew up loving all kinds of music. In fact, he was spotlighted early on when selected for the prestigious Barrington Boys Choir (an American version of the one in Vienna). Through that opportunity, he appeared in the operas Carmen and Tosca at the Providence Performing Arts Center, formerly The Ocean State Theater. Roles in musical theatre followed. Though he later graduated from Ithaca College in New York with a degree in education, Palumbo never lost his ease onstage. A teacher by day, professional singer by night, and audiences applaud this doubly-talented individual.

Boyz II Men

Friday, February 16, 2018 8:00pm

Boyz II Men remains one of the most truly iconic R&B groups in music history. The group redefined popular R&B and continues to create timeless hits that appeal to fans across all generations, the band has penned and performed some of the most celebrated classics of the past two decades. The group’s 4 Grammy Awards are just the tip of the iceberg: throughout their 25-year career, Boyz II Men have also won a whopping 9 American Music Awards, 9 Soul Train Awards, 3 Billboard Awards, and a 2011 MOBO Award for Outstanding Contribution to Music, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, as well and a Casino Entertainment Award for their acclaimed residency at the Mirage Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, which has been ongoing since 2013.

The trio holds the distinction of being the best-selling R&B group of all time, with an astounding 60 million albums sold. And the reason is abundantly clear: for the past two decades Boyz II Men have given fans a rich catalogue of hits filled with smooth harmonies and enduring themes. And for Boyz II Men the hits just keep on coming—the group continues to craft new albums and bring their legendary act to stages across the world.

Boyz II Men’s past hits include: “End of the Road,” “I’ll Make Love to You,” “One Sweet Day,” “Motownphilly” and many others. And their recent albums have earned them major critical acclaim as well. Their Decca label debut, Motown: A Journey Through Hitsville USA (Decca/Universal), on November 13, 2007 earned them two Grammy Nominations.

In 2011, Boyz II Men marked their 20th anniversary by releasing a landmark album, fittingly titled Twenty. The album contains the group’s first original material in nearly a decade as well as a dozen remasetered classic, career-defining hits. Twenty debuted at #20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart, #4 on the Billboard R&B album chart, #10 on the Billboard Digital Album Chart, and placed #1 on the iTunes R&B Soul Album chart. Twenty’s first single, “More Than You’ll Ever Know” cracked into the top 15 on Urban AC charts.

Boyz II Men have won fans the world over with their soulful multi-octave sound and incredible vocals. Given the monumental success of their albums and the timeless quality of their vocals, it’s easy to see why Boyz II Men remains the most popular R&B group of all time. Ask any successful pop or R&B superstar which artists have inspired them- chances are Boyz II Men will be at the top. From Justin Timberlake and Usher to Justin Bieber and Beyonce, the most successful stars in the industry look to Boyz II Men as their idols.

Beyond making music, giving back is also important to Boyz II Men- the group has its own charity called Boyz II Men House which lends support to individuals and organizations that focus on improving quality of life and helping to unlock human potential, while contributing to the health and vitality of those less fortunate.

Although Boyz II Men continues to tour across the country and around the globe, performing a mix of their latest tracks and treasured classics, the group currently has a residency at famed Las Vegas venue The Mirage through the end of 2018. Boyz II Men have made R&B accessible to the masses and have helped the genre come into its own—and fans throughout the world flock to
see them perform at sold out shows. Fans were wowed in the summer of 2014 when Boyz II Men headed out on the hotly-anticipated Package Tour with New Kids on the Block and 98 Degrees.

The group released a new album featuring original material through label BMG in October 2014 called Collide. Collide is a landmark album for Boyz II Men, showcasing a new and different sound for one of the most successful and enduring groups in mainstream music. Two of the tracks, “Better Half,” and “Diamond Eyes” were featured on a special episode of ABC’s hit show, “The Bachelorette.” Currently the group is working on a Doo-Wop project and starring in Grease Live which aired on FOX on January 31, 2016. Friday, February 23, 2018 9:00pm

The one and only, often imitated, never duplicated, creators of music, fun and mayhem all over the northeast since 1997!

Darik and the Funbags started playing Connecticut in 1997 and have since grown their territory faster than a door-to-door Jehovah’s Witness, spanning gigs up and down the eastern seaboard. They boast national exposure being featured on VH-1’s Cover Wars and is one of the few cover bands to get it’s name on New Havens “Legendary Toads Place” Wall of Fame.

Although they like to think they are too “bad ass” to be corporate darlings, they’ve won over that circuit too; with appearances at the GHO/Travelers Golf Championship, the Pilot Pen Tennis Tournament, The Major League LaCrosses National Championships, Yale Bowl, Gampel Pavilion, Met Life Stadium, New Jersey, Resort towns such as Killington, VT and Newport RI as well as Bridgeport, Granby, Guilford, Chicopee, S. Windsor, West Hartford, Enfield, New Milford and Southington town sponsored events as well many University and College performances. You can say that they acclimate well! And just when you thought they would draw the line there, they’ve become one of the most popular and sought out wedding groups in the region! They’ve helped consummate marriages all over New England in typical Funbag fashion, even for couples who’ve met right at a Funbag show! …so you can say they clean up pretty nicely as well!

Kevin Herchen enjoys playing venues throughout New England as a solo, acoustic artist. He has a captivating style and a passion that can be heard in his original work and can cover another artist’s song perfectly or adapt and uniquely interpret it to fit his own style. He recorded a live compilation at the Rocky Point Pub in Warwick, RI in 2005 and in 2010 completed a 10 track, solo, acoustic album entitled “Borrowed Time” at Venue Studios in Warwick, RI. In 2012, he created the Kevin Herchen YouTube channel and added live video recordings from Venue Studios. In 2015, he was named the winner of the WPRI Rhode Show Big Break Contest. He looks to go as far as his music will take him. “Music is in my blood,” Herchen concludes, “I won’t stop until I can’t play or sing anymore.”

As they say of the weather in New England, “If you don’t like it, wait a minute.” the same can be said of their varied and daringly unexpected song selection. Some renditions feature the simplicity of a single acoustic guitar and vocalist while others take you to the opposite end of the spectrum featuring the sound of a full 5-piece band with backing tracks, created live from scratch. Requests from the audience are always welcome and sincerely encouraged!

Friday, April 13, 2018 8:00pm

It’s that moment when the house lights go down and the audience erupts:  a drumbeat punches through the darkness, and the stage lights – almost blindingly bright at first – reveal a killer band ready to unleash a catalog of classic hits like none other. That familiar snarl of a slide guitar rips open the room, and you know you’re about to experience a bad-to-the-bone icon at his very best. George Thorogood And The Destroyers are throwing a Rock Party for 2017, and you’re invited. George Thorogood And The Destroyers’ self-titled and now-classic debut on Rounder would soon be certified Gold. Over the course of 16 studio albums – including six Gold and two Platinum discs on Rounder, EMI and Capitol – the band would amass an unmatched catalog of hits that includes “Who Do You Love”, “I Drink Alone”, “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer”, “Move It On Over”, “Get A Haircut” and the ultimate badass anthem, “Bad To The Bone.” For George Thorogood And The Destroyers – as well as for millions of fans old & new – the Rock Party starts now.

Paul Anka

Friday, April 20, 2018 8:00pm

Born July 30, 1941, in Ottawa, Canada, into a close-knit family, Paul Anka didn’t waste time getting his life in music started. From an early age he sang in a choir, studied piano and honed his writing skills with journalism courses, even working as a cub reporter at the Ottawa Citizen. By 13, he had his own vocal group, the Bobbysoxers.  Blinded by determination, he would steal his mother’s car and drive to perform at every amateur night he could. Soon after, he won a trip to New York by winning a Campbell’s soup contest that required him to spend three months collecting soup can labels. It was there that his dream to make it as a singer composer was solidified.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Rock Swings and Classic Songs, My Way – ingeniously featured songs originally created by some of the biggest rock performers of the day. Anka, of course, did the songs ‘his way.’ Rock Swings went Top 10 in the UK, and was certified gold in the UK, France, and Canada, hit No. 2 on Billboard’s Top Jazz Albums chart and went on to sell half a million units worldwide.
