Twin River unveils casino vision and economic benefits for Tiverton

Twin River Management Group (TRMG) presented its vision for a casino and hotel in Tiverton, Rhode Island to the Town Council tonight which reflected the input it received from more than 1,200 residents in the 35 community meetings it held over the last six months along with three design charrettes and two prior presentations to the Council.
Twin River to Host Public Workshops on Proposed Tiverton Casino

Twin River Management Group (TRMG) will host a series of three public workshops in September in an effort to gain more guidance from the residents of Tiverton on the design and planning effort for the proposed casino. Known as “charrettes” the sessions will be facilitated by members of Twin River’s project team including its architect, traffic expert, planning consultants and environmental specialist. They will seek feedback from residents on a variety of issues ranging from the architectural look and feel of the property, traffic around the proposed location, environmental considerations and the range of preferred amenities such as a hotel, dining and entertainment options.
Twin River Management Group completes acquisition of Newport Grand

Twin River Management Group (TRMG) announced today that it has completed its acquisition of Newport Grand Slots in Newport, Rhode Island following regulatory approvals by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation and the Division of Lotteries. As was announced in February of this year, Twin River Management Group acquired the interest in the Purchase and Sale Agreement held by Newport Entertainment and Leisure, LLC.
Twin River Casino to Add 28 New Table Games on Second Floor

Twin River Casino will add 28 new table games on the second floor of the Rhode Island gaming venue, including 16 poker tables, which will constitute the casino’s new poker room, as well as a mix of traditional table games including Blackjack.
Twin River Management Group to Purchase Newport Grand

Twin River Management Group announced today that it has entered into an agreement to purchase Newport Grand Casino in Newport, Rhode Island. Twin River has acquired the interest in the Purchase and Sale Agreement currently held by Newport Entertainment and Leisure, LLC, owned by Joseph R. Paolino, Jr. and Paul Roiff. The acquisition is expected to close no later than June 30, 2015 and is subject to regulatory approvals by the Rhode Island Department of Business Regulation and the Division of Lotteries, as well as other closing conditions.
Twin River Casino Requests Lincoln Town Council Engage in Process to Explore Hotel

The chairman of Twin River Casino appeared before the Lincoln Town Council this evening to inform the Council of its interest in constructing a hotel on property and to seek legislative assistance to remove the current prohibition to do so. Fulfilling a long-held pledge to begin any conversation about a hotel at Twin River first with the Town of Lincoln, John E. Taylor, Jr. told the Council that timing may be right to engage in a process to construct a small hotel at Twin River.

Twin River Casino to Add 14 New Table Games by End of Year

Twin River Casino will add 14 more table games to its existing 66 by the end of this year, and in so doing, hire approximately 90 more new employees. The announcement comes on the heels of the Rhode Island Division of Lotteries approval last week to install the additional games, all within the existing Twin River footprint. The number of Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs) will remain at 4,583. Gilbane Building Company and JCJ Architecture have been re-engaged to complete the build-out at an estimated cost of $1 million.

The Gilbane Building Company of Providence, Rhode Island was selected to renovate and re-create gaming floor and back of house space to accommodate the arrival of 66 table games to the first floor area around Blackstone Bar. The company entered into a Project Labor Agreement with union trades who performed all of the work within a six month period of time.

Twin River Casino announces the completion of the first dealer-training program held in Rhode Island’s history. Thirty Rhode Island residents have just completed an intense four-week blackjack dealer training, affording a contingent job offer. More classes are set to ensue over the next few weeks as Twin River prepares for the implementation of table games.
